Divers continue search for missing boatman

Divers continued the search for missing 29-year-old Graeme Nixon, whose boat capsized in Larne Lough at the weekend.

The specialist divers waited for the low tide to arrive yesterday afternoon before they began to trawl through the muddy basin of the lough, where it is feared Mr Nixon could have lost his life.

Family and friends of Graeme, including his 21-year-old fiancee Katrina Dubbin, anxiously waited on the shore for news of any developments yesterday.

The couple, who have a young daughter, are due to marry later this month.

Graeme had gone whelk-picking in a small boat with a friend on Saturday afternoon.

When the boat capsized his friend managed to swim to the shore and raised the alarm, but rescuers have been unable to find any trace of the father-of-two.
