Ready for take-off: Belfast model Laura Lacole, 20, helps launch the new Airbus 319, at Belfast International Airport
easyJet is replacing the five Boeing 737s it operates from Belfast International Airport with five new Airbus 319s.
Those travelling to Amsterdam and Luton today will take off in one of the Airbus 319s that easyJet has purchased. The other four being phased in over the winter.
A sixth 319 will operate from the Belfast base from the end of March next year.
The 319 - one of the aircraft in the Airbus 320 family - has 156 seats, compared with the 149 seats on the Boeing 737.

EasyJet said it is one of the most environmentally efficient aircraft available.
Paul Simmons, the airline's regional general manager for the UK, said: "The A320 family is recognised as the benchmark single-aisle aircraft family.
"More than 6,400 A320 aircraft have been sold to more than 300 customers and operators worldwide, making it the world's best-selling commercial jetliner ever.
"We are delighted to have brought this new Airbus experience to Belfast. We know that the aircraft will be appreciated by both business and leisure travellers and that our position as Northern Ireland's favourite airline will be further consolidated."

What I can't work out is why the crew in the background were left able to leave their clothes and flourescent jackets on? Are passengers who cannot afford to pay for luggage through the hold no longer able to bring clothes on board? Seriously easyjet as a regular customer who is aware of the Berlin Holocaust memorial fashion shoot fiasco, take stock you are marketing to a 21st century audience.

There's no such thing as bad publicity. Isn't it obvious? The idea behind a photo shoot like that in this day and age is not to use sex to sell, it's to draw attention by way of creating controversy. Give those marketing fellas a pay rise!

I for one approve of the photos. Next time they should do a 'film'. Don't be to bothered with a storyline. That'll get the punters in.

I think their marketing agency must have accidentally picked up an old campaign from Detroit (marketing hotrods in the 60"s.
Someone from easyJet actually watched this presentation and thought this was a good idea. Hope their ideas on maintenance are more advanced than their ideas on marketing lol.......

Why are easyjet using a scantily clad lady to promote this route? It is distasteful and down right degrading to women. The BT should also be ashamed for publishing the picture.

"it's freezing in december, we're launching a new plane on our route, i know lets get a model in an ugly orange bikini sitting on board. It's not at all relevant but hey we can't think of anything better." Perleeze, who does their marketing?!......fire them now.
