Exorcism: Irish family flee house after son flung from bed
Friday, 19 March 2010
A excorcism will be performed on a council house in the Republic of Ireland tonight, amid claims that it is haunted.
The occupants of the house at Hollyhill on Cork's northside have fled, saying it is occupied by an evil spirit that is determined to keep them out.
Laura Burke, her partner Ritchie and her son Kyle are terrified to remain after a spate of bizarre occurrences over recent weeks.
The young couple moved into the house last August.
Today, special prayers will be said at the house to placate the spirit and a 'New Age' shaman (spirit worker) will perform an exorcism.
Laura said holy pictures were routinely being knocked from the wall, screams were heard in the dead of night and their son was flung from his bed.
The family received their greatest shock when they spotted what they described as "glowing orbs" hovering in mid-air in certain rooms in the house.
"It's an evil spirit -- I don't believe it means us well," said Laura.
"We tried saying prayers in the house and the next thing all you hear is banging furniture upstairs or clothes being fired out of wardrobes."
Clairvoyant John O'Reilly was invited to inspect the house. He said he immediately felt "a presence", adding: "There is someone here -- someone who is very angry.
"I get (a feeling) of a younger man who would have hung himself."
However, locals remain dubious about the haunting claims and said nobody recalls previous incidents at the house or any tragedy fitting the descriptions being cited.

The couple isn't married. The obvious answer here, is that whomever it is, is "old school." The fact that an unmarried couple is living in their space, is really ticking them off.

hello all, firstly i would like say that most of the post were from people that are not very knowledgeable on the subject... there is proof everywhere on the paranormal...what makes you think they didn't believe in god, people that don't , don't have holy pics in their home...special prayers, of course, this is a special reason, not sitting down to bless the dinner prayers!...never heard of a shaman charging for this kind of service,so what makes you think they did!...they didnt say anything about using a paranormal team, they used a clairvoyant, and the name oreilly sounds irish to me!..the head of vatican usually isnt required,an experienced shaman or priest works just fine...welfare move, what are you talking about? many people that live in haunted houses don't move because all their money is tied up in the home & cant afford to move, however i have never heard of the welfare system paying for this!...lastly,the paranormal movie was released recently

Ghosts are indeed real and the group "Strange Phenomena Investigations" In Edinburgh deal with this sort of thing.
I have had hauntings myself and it turned out I was the one that was drawing them in and was psychic. All hopefully dealt with now.

Weird, the amount of technology around these days (camera phones etc.) and still no proof of anything supernatural. If there was proof it would be headline news for a century!!
Starting to think maybe there's no such thing...

I'd say happy hour starts a little early each day in this house...

In my opinion it is a spirit who is frustrated of knowing that it is still living but unable, we humans, to see his presence. so it needs help to go where it belongs,to his real home.on the other side. With love it has to be explained to it, to be aware of the light and go to it because it doesn't belong here anymore. It has to understand poor soul, and we can help it by rescue it,not sent it away and still lives here(somewhere else still on earth)RIP

Having been a victim of "an angry/frustrated entity or trapped soul" at a former address and having to seek similar help, I not only feel for the family involved and the fear they must be experiencing, but also the frustration for the trapped soul present. Maybe it might be worth looking into what was on the sight of the house previously? could be centuries ago, every plot/house/ area has history? I do wish people would not judge, the locals are not living with the entity? There will always be sceptics. Usually once the spirits death story is shared, they are happy to go over, he just missed his time to pass. God Bless all involved and I really do hope all goes well with the spirit release work.

Special prayers, New Age and Holy things - What a mixture - Firstly these people should decide whether or not they believe in God and then if they do - get all the new age rubbish out of the house!!

Could this family please place some cameras in the house? It would be great to have some proof of paranormal activity.

Paranormal Activity has just been released on DVD, hasn't it?
No saying there is a coincidence or anything.
