Free Presbyterian cleric calls for boycott of 'Antichrist' film

A Free Presbyterian cleric has urged people to stay away from tonight’s screening in Londonderry of a film that made some audience members faint when shown at Cannes.

The Foyle Film Festival organisers said they decided to show Antichrist — which has scenes of graphic sex and sexual violence — at the Strand Omniplex tonight as it was part of cinema’s role was to challenge its audience.

Antichrist will be showcased as part of the 22nd Foyle Film Festival at 9.30pm.

But Rev Ian Brown of the Londonderry Free Presbyterian Church warned people to stay away from “the acts of lustful barbarity that are such a feature of this film”.
