Future Northern Ireland home games

Tuesday, 21 October 2008

Where should Northern Ireland play their home games until a permanent solution is found?

EnglandYes 3%
DublinYes 23%
Casement ParkYes 11%
Hold out for a new stadium in Northern IrelandYes 27%
Stay at Windsor - no matter whatYes 37%

The nightmare prospect of Northern Ireland having to play home games in venues outside the province is real and imminent, a supporters group has warned.

It is a blight on Irish football that the IFA and the Linfield Football Club have allowed Windsor Park to fall into such disrepair. The fans deserve so much more. This stadium should be brought back to its former glory.

Ideally, "Fortress" Windsor will be given a radical overhaul so that it meets the requisite standards. If this cannot be achieved, then it should be given a temporary overhaul while a new 20-25,000 all-seater stadium is built in our capital city, NOT in some village outside of Belfast.
