Get me to the polling booth on time

A proud father gave his daughter away in marriage then took time out to vote yards from the church.

Dr Kenneth Bell (72) said he wouldn’t have it any other way after voting near Lisburn.

The retired medical physicist said his daughter Victoria Martin (34) and new son-in-law Roger (33) cast their own vote of confidence inside Lambeg Church of Ireland.

Solicitor Victoria, resplendent in white for the wedding, said the day was extremely exciting.

“This just makes it all the more unique and special and we voted for each other as man and wife in the church.

“We placed our vote and my dad did his.”
