Police are investigating a possible link between a gun and an attempted robbery at a west Belfast supermarket yesterday.
The firearm was found in Glenshane Gardens after a cash-in-transit driver was threatened near a supermarket on the Andersonstown Road shortly before 3pm.
A man demanded the driver hand over a cashbox, but he refused.
The assailant fled the scene and a short time later the firearm was found. A stolen Seat Ibiza was also recovered in the same area yesterday.
