Hi °C | Lo °C Amnesty International is again criticising Ireland and the rest of the EU for failing to challenge the US Government about so-called "rendition" flights.
In a study out today, the organisation slams EU member states for failing to admit or investigate US human rights violations on their own soil.
Amnesty is highlighting the case of Khaled al-Maqtari, who was illegally transferred from Baghdad to Kabul, where he was tortured for three years.
It says the plane that carried him flew out of Shannon.
Amnesty Ireland says the Irish Government is deliberately turning a blind eye to the situation and breaking international law to facilitate US policy.
