Irish magnate JP McManus in defence of Tiger Woods

Monday, 28 December 2009

Multi-millionaire Irish racing magnate JP McManus has come out in defence of his friend Tiger Woods.

The top businessman is one of the first of the golfer's high-profile Irish friends to speak out since Woods was revealed as a serial womaniser.

Mr McManus said it was important to remember the work Tiger has done for charity in Ireland.

“He has done a lot of very good things in his time,” said Mr McManus. “He's done a lot of work for charity and he has been very good to Ireland.”

Describing his fondness for the golfer, he said Woods was “a very personable guy” and that he would hope to see him return to Ireland this year.

Of course it's alright to pay women tens of thousands of dollars for sex whiel having a wife and children at home. Mr Woods is not and never will be the roll that he has played again. He's gone Mr McManus. Interesting defence. Perhaps double standards is the privelidge of the rish? Just as long as you do a few good things.

Gritty, moving and heroic...Billy plays captured life here

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times ... Sunday's 30th anniversary screening of the seminal Too Late to Talk to Billy was riveting viewing. But it wasn't nostalgic viewing.

Surprise, surprise. Peter Robinson has been to his first gaelic match, Martin McGuinness is heading for Windsor Park and the Ulster Unionists have scored another own goal.

Why trying to go on a diet is never really a piece of cake

Some people make New Year’s resolutions, I make lists. Every new year I determine to keep track of everything I spend and everything I eat and drink.

Scary movie? Their jaws were sore from laughing

Teenage boys love horror films and I have two who are in charge of the remote control in our house, so naturally there’s gore-a-plenty on the box most weekends. However, until recently one film was banned.
