ITV has escaped a fine for failing to award a prize for a competition run during its coverage of the 2008 Formula One season.
The broadcaster notified Ofcom about the problem with the competition, in which viewers were asked to call a £1 premium rate phone line.
ITV organised a new draw from scratch to award the prize and opened up a refund process for three months. But Ofcom criticised ITV for breaching the broadcasting code.
