Jade Goody: I’ll be one of the stars in the sky

Jade Goody

Jade Goody

Cancer-stricken Jade Goody has told her young sons she will soon be a “star up in the sky” looking over them, her publicist has said.

The reality TV star has also made preparations for her funeral which she wants to be a “celebration” of her life, Max Clifford said.

She spent the day at home in Upshire, Essex, where her husband, Jack Tweed, and her mother, Jackiey Budden, were at her bedside.

A vicar visited yesterday for a small private service and to say prayers. Mr Clifford said he was not administering the last rites but added that she was “fading” and nobody knew how much longer she had left to live.

“Mummy’s going to heaven soon,” she told her boys, Bobby (5) and Freddy (4) when she came home from hospital on Thursday, Mr Clifford said.

“She said she’s going to be a star up in the sky so when they are looking up they will be able to see her and know that she is there, always looking over them.

“That’s her way of dealing with the situation.

Jade decided to do all she could to prepare her sons after taking advice from bereavement counsellors.

Mr Clifford said: “Jade sees this as a route for her — through Jesus and religion she has a way of keeping in touch with everybody, and with the boys. That’s why they are doing what they are doing.”

Jade first said she would leave arrangements for the funeral to others, but could not resist getting involved.

“She wants it to be a big celebration because it’s her final farewell to everybody,” said Mr Clifford.

“She’s the world’s first world reality television star. It will be a very Jade Goody event, exactly the way she wants it.”

The funeral is expected to see a cortege of cars drive through the Bermondsey area of south London, where Jade grew up.

She will be buried in the churchyard of St John the Baptist in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.

Jade (27) has also reportedly chosen her funeral music and hymns, including All Things Bright and Beautiful.

“She’s getting weaker, she’s fading, but she’s got a big heart which is probably why she’s still alive,” said Mr Clifford.

She is one in a million and she is who she is. Words cannot explain how I feel, but when I think of Jade, yes you Jade you make me laugh with all the funny things you do. You will never be forgotton. Love respect and hope to see you when I get there too.XXXXXXXXX

"the world is behind Jade"

The world is behind the suffering of a young terminally ill mother who is shortly to leave two boys to grow up without her. The media is having a severe case of the guilts at having treated her so badly in the past, and now realise the public would have no stomach for them if they continued in this vain under the circumstances.

The world is certainly not behind the shameless exploitation that an already rich woman is perpetrating on a dreadfully sad situation, which insults many thousands of ordinary cancer sufferers.

Nothing at all to do with compassion and empathy - it's bog standard dignity, coupled with human decency.

I think Mr Clifford is crossing the line now with the jade story. I actually remember him saying that he wasnt going to represent her after the wedding.
Dont get me wrong I totally admire her strength, courage and up beat personality whilst going through her illness and through to her wedding. I understand her desire to keep earning money for her sons. But I think at this stage it is quite enough and max clifford will only damage his own reputation if he goes any further.
The girl should be allowed to slip away in peace and let her entire family find out she is dead before it is printed on a daiy rag.

Some people really need a sense of perspective, do they really think Jade is going to turn into a magical fluffy angel star, because she has so much love in her heart and is remarkable and shiny.

Jade has made sure she cannot slip away peacefully with all this utter garbage, so know we are left with ejits writing her messages on a website about how shiny and lovely and star like and fluffy and lovely she is

Alex, you were the one that bought this up!

Jade did indeed donate to this charity to help children in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The amount was £50,000 which is huge and generous in anyone's book. IF, you had a 'normal' book! As a percentage of her wealth, this amounts to around 1%, which is still very generous.

The equivalent 1% generosity would equate to £100 on net income to someone earning £15,000 pa. Still generous, but you really do need to put it into perspective. (After she gave it away, she was still a multi-millionair)

Like you, if you find facts distasteful, you can always skip this page......

I also wish Jade peace, and the strength to find quiet dignity in her fading time with us.

Stephen, you do seem to have done your homework on Jades finances and provided an "estimate" on her fortunes. And yes, you are right, there are people alot worse off, but what you didn't touch on was the fact that Jade did have a terrible childhood, worse than i would ever care to imagine, a mother who was a heroin addict pushing drugs to her daughter, something which Jade has courageously forgiven her for long ago. She started with nothing and is making sure that her two boys have the life that she dreamed off when she was mistreated as a little girl.
Did you know that Jade was the mystery benefactor of an undisclosed amount of money that will take 126 children out of the slums in India for the rest if their lives? No, i didnt think so.

If you find it distasteful, skip past that page in the paper, or turn the channel over, dont click on the link on the belfast telegraph web-site. The choice is yours as it is hers.

May you slip away peacefully Jade

"Some people are a disgrace"

Let's get this into perspective. Yes, it's exceptionally sad that a young mother has been stricken down by this terrible disease, but look at this case in particular.

Jade has an estimated personal fortune estimated to be in excess of £3Million. Excluding a modest property portfolio, book receipts (of her biography) which grossed over £1Million in 8 months and drives around in a £60,000 Range Rover. (In addition to her perfume range, and other investments). Her kids are as far away from relying on state benefits as it is possible to imagine.

Her very outspoken sponsorship of her death scene on the public stage is to many, massively distasteful. There are thousands of 'ordinary' people who are having to make daily decisions on how to feed their own family and how to keep them warm. Many the victims of partners who have died of cancer, and without the already established wealth that this woman has.

Yes, indeed, 'some people are a disgrace'.

Some people are a disgrace. If you cant say anything positive when someone is about to pass away then dont say anything at all whether you like them or not. Its very spiteful. Yes Jade has chosen to be very public with her cancer battle and approach to death, but that is her choice, not yours, not mine, hers. She had no say in being diagnosed with terminal cancer so she may as well have a say in the rest of her days or hours. People have lost sight of the fact that this young girl was failed by our health system and did not need to die, she was hospitalized various times and it was missed everytime. She is 27 with two kids yet she has accepted that her time has come. I have massive respect for Jade and the awareness she has raised for this terrible disease. She has always known her place, a reality tv star and she never tried to pretend to be anything else unlike so many people in our failing society.

This is shockingly embarrassing, surely this woman can be left alone to die without daft strangers saying they'll be looking up to see her star! Debbie she is not your pal and isn't going to turn into a star. I wonder is Elton going to pen another ditty?

Jade puts some Christians to shame in the way they deal with death.

She is an example to all of us in how she is coping and how she is towards her kids.

I never liked Jade but she has gone to the top of my list for people I admire the way she has been through her ordeal and will be remembered for the positive things she has done especially for all women bringing cervical cancer to the fore and possibily saving many lives.

See you in heavan Jade

God bless

Jade you are really quite rare to find in these harsh times you are a breath of fresh air, and make people truely smile, you will be missed and what is happening to you is really awful, I lost my mum to cancer just over 12 months ago, and I think of her everyday, just as I'm sure your boys will think of you. You are a bright shining star, both here and up in heaven you will always be remembered. Our prayers are with you and your family, God Bless Jade, I think you are going to a better place, and you will see your family again someday, as I have to believe I will one day see my mum again. Love and best wishes to a remarkable person.
