Jade Goody planning Christening pary for sons
Wednesday, 25 February 2009
Jade Goody is concentrating on planning her sons' christening as she continues her fight with terminal cancer, her spokesman said today.
The reality TV star is still "euphoric" about her wedding to fiance Jack Tweed on Sunday but remains very tired from the exertion of the day, according to publicist Max Clifford.
She was due to go to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London for a check-up today, but instead doctors visited her at home yesterday.
Goody, 27, who has been given just weeks to live, is now making arrangements for her sons Bobby, five, and Freddie, four, to be christened before her death.
The ceremony has been put back to the weekend of March 7 and 8 to make it easier for the boys' friends to attend.
Mr Clifford said: "The only thing she's going to be thinking about now is organising the christening. She wants to make it into a big party for the boys."
The publicist is also currently in discussions with ITV about Goody doing an interview with Piers Morgan, which will take place early next week if she is well enough.
He said: "She's in good spirits, and absolutely feels that the wedding was wonderful. As she said, it's the dream wedding that she always wanted.
"It was the most wonderful day. She's still euphoric about that."
The publicist admitted Goody was "very unwell", but added: "Everybody is doing as much as possible to help - the Marie Curie nurses, the Royal Marsden - and most of the time she's OK."
A documentary about the wedding filmed by Living TV is expected to be shown in a fortnight.
Meanwhile, it was revealed today that Goody pleaded with doctors to help her die after being told her cancer was terminal.
The star told OK! magazine her immediate reaction to the devastating diagnosis was to "just give up".
"I said to my doctors, 'I just want to go now, just give me an injection or a tablet. Let me go and let my kids get on with their lives'," she said.
Goody, whose cervical cancer has spread to her liver, groin and bowel, told OK! she was "ready to go to heaven" after tying the knot.
She sold the magazine and TV rights to her wedding for nearly £1 million, and has been open about wanting to exploit media interest in her cancer battle to make as much money as possible for her sons.

Please Jade - enough already! She is in danger of wringing the public symapthy dry with her plight. I feel for her and admire her but this is all getting far to 'financial' Will she make deserved donations to Marie Curie and the Royal Marsden? No amount of money will make up for the fact that the boys will lose their Mum.
