Life-saving brothers hailed

Two Northern Ireland brothers are retiring after accumulating 60 years of service as volunteer rescue officers with the Coastguard.

Paul Little and brother Mark have both been presented with long service medals and certificates at a special ceremony in Coastguard HQ in Southampton.

During their three decades of service from their Portrush base they were involved many life |and death rescues. Paul (43), a former principal of Southern Regional, Armagh and Limavady Colleges, recalled many memorable and life-enhancing experiences.

His brother Mark (44), an executive coach and company MD, said: “You also get to realise how cruel the sea can be and how people can get themselves into the most vulnerable positions.”
