Hi °C | Lo °C A man accused of “terrifying” staff at Belfast City Hospital had plunged into heavy drinking after a road accident claimed one brother's life and left another brain damaged, the High Court heard yesterday.
Martin Rock (39) is alleged to have lashed out and tried to head-butt police officers as trouble flared on Monday.
Prosecutors said attempts were made to handcuff him when he refused to calm down after shouting abuse and behaving aggressively.
Rock, of Pretoria Street, Belfast, is accused of disorderly behaviour and resisting police.
Mr Justice Treacy, who granted Rock bail, ordered a complete alcohol ban and imposed a night-time curfew.
