Man arrested in connection with attack on PSNI officers

Wednesday, 20 August 2008

Gardai have arrested a man in his 30s as part of the investigation into an attempted bomb attack on PSNI officers in Co Fermanagh over the weekend.

The arrest was made during a series of raids this morning by Gardai in Cavan and PSNI officers in Fermanagh.

The raids were part of the investigation into a failed bomb attack on three PSNI officers who were on foot patrol in Lisnakea on Saturday night.

A grenade-type device was fired at the officers, but failed to explode.
