Man remanded after sex attack on girl by burglar
Tuesday, 16 June 2009
A man has been remanded in custody accused of sexually assaulting a child during a burglary in north Belfast.
Daniel Fullerton (30) was arrested by detectives investigating an alleged attack on a young girl in the Cliftonville area of the city.
Fullerton, of Carlisle Parade, Belfast, is charged with three counts of sexual assault against a child aged under 13.
He is also accused of entering a dwelling as a trespasser on the same date, June 3.
Belfast Magistrates Court yesterday heard Fullerton allegedly stole bread, cheese, ham and 10 cigarettes. The defendant faces a fifth charge of assaulting a police officer on June 12.
A detective constable told the court she could connect him with the offences.
Remanding Fullerton in custody to appear again next month, District Judge Fiona Bagnall imposed a ban on disclosing the exact location of the alleged offences to protect the child’s identity.
