Max Mosley's son found dead

The son of Formula One boss Max Mosley has been found dead, police sources confirmed today.

Alexander Mosley, 39, was discovered dead at a property in Notting Hill, west London.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We were called at 16.20 yesterday to reports of a male found dead at a property in W11. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man is in his late 30s.

"We believe we know the identity of the deceased but we are in the process of informing the family. The coroner's office has been informed."

Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) this afternoon issued a statement offering its condolences.

"The FIA extends sincere condolences to the Mosley family on the sad news of the death of Alexander Mosley.

"Our thoughts are with Alexander's family and friends, and we would request that the media respect the Mosley family's privacy at this difficult time."
