Nadine sets off charity road race

Ulster singer Nadine Coyle was today bound for the foot of the Sperrin Mountains to pull the start trigger on the 21st Greencastle Road Race.

Nadine, who returned to her native Derry for Christmas with Hollywood actor boyfriend Jesse Metcalfe last week, agreed to give up Boxing Day at home to help raise funds at the event for the Friends of the Cancer Centre.

She was starting the race at for over 600 runners who will take on the foothills in aid of cancer patients.

Oliver McCullagh, one of the organisers, said: "I am delighted that Nadine has taken the time out from her Christmas break with her family to lend her support to the road race."
