Nadine sets the pace in Christmas charity road race

Girls Aloud babe Nadine Coyle is expected to set pulses racing when she returns home to launch a charity road race.

The Ulster beauty is due to start the 21st annual Greencastle Road Race which raises money for cancer patients across the country.

She is expected to leave her Desperate Housewives beau Jesse Metcalfe behind to spend time with her family in her Londonderry home.

Organisers have said Nadine will add a little extra Christmas sparkle to the annual event.

Oliver McCullagh said: "This a very important year for the Greencastle Road Race and I am delighted that Nadine has taken the time out from her Christmas break with her family to lend her support to the 21st Greencastle Road Race.

"This year we are supporting Friends Of The Cancer Centre (formerly Friends Of Montgomery House) who do a tremendous job supporting cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland."

Colleen Shaw, Friends fundraising manager, said: "I am so delighted that Nadine has taken the time to join us all. Cancer affects every one of us and Christmas can be a sad time for lots of the families 'Friends' supports. The money raised will be put to good use in benefiting cancer patients from across Northern Ireland."
