A 44-year-old man has been arrested for questioning about the murder of two soldiers.

He was detained by police during searches yesterday in Magherafelt, Co Londonderry, in connection with the shootings at the Massereene Barracks in Antrim in March.

One man, prominent dissident republican Colin Duffy, has so far been charged with the murders.

Sappers Mark Quinsey (23) from Birmingham and Patrick Azimkar (21) from London were shot dead as they collected pizzas from delivery men outside the gates of the Army base on March 7.

The Real IRA claimed responsibility for the attack which took place two days before a policeman was shot dead by the Continuity IRA in Craigavon, Co Armagh.

Meanwhile the identity of a teenager charged with murdering Constable Stephen Carroll can now be revealed. John Paul Wotton, who is accused of killing the 48-year-old officer in Craigavon on March 9, turned 18 yesterday.
