The man who died in a motorcycle crash at the weekend was Billy Craig (48).
He died after the incident on Whitepark Road close to Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge in Antrim on Sunday. Mr Craig, from the Ballymena area, was taken to Causeway Hospital in Coleraine, but died shortly after. It is understood that no other vehicle was involved. Police have appealed to the occupants of a silver-coloured car with Republic of Ireland number plates which stopped at the scene to come forward.
Man, 20, to face rape charge
A 20-YEAR-OLD man is due in court today charged with rape. He also faces a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm when he appears at Ards Magistrate’s Court this morning. The charges relate to an incident in the Bangor area on August 29.

A TOTAL of 26 cannabis plants and suspected Class A drugs were taken from a house in Glenlough, Ballynahinch, yesterday during a police search. A 25-year-old man was arrested.
Suspect device an ‘elaborate hoax’
POLICE have described a security alert in Craigavon as an elaborate hoax. Army technical officers were called to examine a suspect object found in the Sugar Island Road area of Bleary yesterday morning. The device was taken away.
Warning over distraction thefts
TWO distraction burglary incidents occurred yesterday. In the first around 2pm a man called at a home in the Ballyknockan Park area of Lisburn and asked the householder about erecting fencing. A second man entered the house but both fled when they realised another man was in the house. A short time later two men approached a man at Roseville Park of Lisburn claiming to be from a utility company. After they left, the householder found entry had been forced to his home and some cash taken.
