The manufacturer of a sensor which gauges fertility is making a “pregnant in 12 months or your money back” offer.
Cambridge Temperature Concepts says its DuoFertility device, which costs nearly £500, will identify women's most fertile days “with 99% accuracy”. The firm, based in Cambridge, is making the offer on its website but warns that the deal is subject to terms and conditions.
Drink-drive deaths on the increase
The number of people who died in drink-drive accidents rose 5% last year, provisional Government figures show. The drink-drive toll on Britain's roads in 2008 was 430 compared with 410 in 2007, the Department for Transport said.
‘Big Bang’ machine is ready for restart
The giant particle collider built to probe the origins of the universe will restart in November at a lower energy level following its shutdown days after its inauguration last year, CERN said yesterday. Job fears ‘leading young people to lie’
Pressure to find a job in the recession is leading almost a fifth of young people to lie on application forms, a survey has found. Those under 21 are the most likely to be untruthful, with 18% lying or hiding information, says a Powerchex survey of more than 4,700 applications to financial firms in the past year.
Policeman held in rape investigation
A METROPOLITAN Police officer has been arrested on suspicion of rape. The man was detained after a woman claimed she was assaulted in Islington, north London, on Wednesday. A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that Westminster detectives are investigating an allegation of serious sexual assault. One man has been arrested and is currently being interviewed at a central London police station.”
Offer for Chelsea just had to be herd
A Kenyan man offered Hillary Clinton 40 goats and 20 cows for her daughter Chelsea's hand in marriage. The US Secretary of State promised to convey the “very kind offer” to her daughter which was made while she was on an official visit. Ms Clinton has denied her daughter (29) is to marry this summer.
