1,000 mourn sea death islander
Wednesday, 6 July 2011

The coffin of Johnny Curry is carried past Rathlin Island harbour where more than 1,000 mourners attended his funeral
Johnny Curry, 66, was travelling from Rathlin to Ballycastle when he fell overboard on Saturday.
An air and sea rescue was launched after the crew of a ferry travelling between Ballycastle and Rathlin Island spotted the empty rigid inflatable boat.
Redbay lifeboat discovered Mr Curry's body a mile off the island's Rue Point.
It is thought something snagged in the propeller of his boat.
His coffin was carried past Rathlin harbour and marina and into St Thomas' Church of Ireland overlooking the island for the funeral.
