As many as 5,000 dissident republicans could descend on Belfast next month as part of a planned parade through the city, it has been reported.

According to The Irish News, the main anti-agreement republican groups are set to hold a 'human rights' march through the city on the anniversary of the introduction of internment.

The group said the march is due to take place on August 9.

Comprising of the main dissident groups in Northern Ireland - including the 32 County Sovereignty Movement and the Republican Network for Unity - organisers told the paper they also intend inviting trade unions, GAA clubs and human rights groups.
