The Princess Royal has enjoyed a one-day trip to Northern Ireland to show support for two causes close to her heart.

Princess Anne carried out two engagements on yesterday's whistle-stop visit, one in Templepatrick followed by an event in Belfast. Her Royal Highness's first engagement was to meet delegates at Trot On, the Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Northern Ireland conference which was held at the Templeton Hotel, Templepatrick, yesterday morning.

The Princess Royal is RDA president and has been involved with the charity nationwide since 1971.

Later in the day, the VIP guest also visited Belfast Metropolitan College's new Titanic Quarter building to attend the Commonwealth Study Conference.
