Arson blacks out Londonderry areas

A fire at an electricity sub station affected power supply to parts of Londonderry

An arson attack on an electricity sub station has left parts of Londonderry in darkness.

The fire on Friday night caused substantial damage to the equipment at Daisyfield Park and affected power supply to parts of the city.

The fire service and police came under attack from a group of youths throwing stones and bottles.

Detectives appealed for anybody with information to contact them.
