A 21-year-old man has suffered a serious head injury in an assault in Belfast.
The man was attacked at the Kings Hall in the Balmoral area of the city on Saturday, where the Planet Love dance music event was being held.
Police said the man was assaulted at around 10.15pm and was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in a serious condition.
SDLP South Belfast councillor Niall Kelly appealed for any witnesses to contact the police.
He added: "Apart from this assault, which is obviously a very serious matter, I still have a number of serious doubts over the suitability of the King's Hall for holding this festival. The King's Hall is in the middle of a residential area and it was not designed for thousands of people emptying on to the streets at one o'clock in the morning.
"As someone who was outside the Kings Hall on both nights, I could see first-hand the efforts which had been made by the event organisers and the PSNI to ensure that this event passed off as peacefully as possible.
"However, there were still hundreds of people milling about outside the Kings Hall for an excessive period of time and a great deal of disruption was caused to local residents."
