Despite police investigations into arson attacks, many times the culprits aren't caught
He was held by passersby until police arrested him.

Members of the public caught a suspected bag snatcher in Belfast city centre on Saturday after an elderly woman had her handbag stolen.

At around 2pm on Saturday a man pushed the woman to the ground and stole her handbag in the Upper Queen Street area of the city.

Bystanders chased the man and held him until police arrived a short time later and arrested him.

The 22-year-old was held on suspicion of robbery and assault and remains in custody.

The woman, who is in her 80s, was taken to hospital to be treated for a fractured shoulder.

Police thanked the members of the public for their assistance and appealed for anyone with information on the incident to contact them at Musgrave Street on the non-emergency number 101.
