Belfast City Hall inviting kids to dance
Thursday, 12 January 2012
Schoolchildren with stars in their eyes are being invited to an open audition at Belfast City Hall later this month for a City Council dance programme.
Young people, aged between 12 and 15 and who are interested in dance, are being offered the eight-week course to boost physical activity levels in the city.
At the end of the programme they will stage a public performance at the Studio in the Waterfront Hall in March. Auditions take place on Sunday, January 22, between 10am and noon.
Councillor Steven Corr said: "This is a great opportunity for young people to take their first steps in dance.
"No experience of dance training is needed because it will be provided.
"More important is enthusiasm, willingness to work, and being able to work as part of a team."
Young people need to register to take part in the dance audition.
