Belfast tops table of TV licence dodgers

More than a quarter of the people caught without a TV licence in Northern Ireland in the last six months were in Belfast.

Figures released by TV Licensing reveal that more than 8,000 people in Northern Ireland have been watching their sets without forking out for a TV licence.

Between January and June, more than 8,300 licence dodgers were identified by TV Licensing officers across Northern Ireland.

At 2,300, Belfast had one of the highest evasion rates.
