Londonderry's marina was officially opened at the weekend, although it has already hosted a plethora of events — not least the Clipper Round the World yacht race.
The marina is the fruit of a joint initiative between the Loughs Agency and Cruise Initiative and is maintained by Foyle Port.
Good wishes for the opening were sent from Jonathan Levy, a director with Clipper Ventures.
He added: “The Marine Event Platform was one of the best facilities that we visited during the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race and its availability was a key factor in bringing the Clipper Race to Derry-Londonderry.”
Foyle Port chief executive Brian McGrath said: “This offers state-of-the-art facilities for hosting maritime events and allows visiting vessels to readily discover the beauty of the Foyle.
“This is an exciting development for the city and it has already brought activity to the river and created a new facility for local leisure and tourism interests.”.
