A suspicious object has been discovered in Derry this evening.

Army bomb experts are currently at the scene of the security alert in the Blucher Street area of Derry.

A number of houses have already been evacuated and the Gasyard Centre has been made available for any evacuated residents

The street is currently closed to traffic and diversions have been put in place.
