Hi °C | Lo °C A woman is recovering after being punched in the face during a distraction-type burglary.
The victim’s ordeal began at around 12.30pm on Monday when a man claiming to be checking electricity meters called at a house in the Oakland Park area of Carrickfergus.
He was allowed in by the woman, in her 20s. He then punched her in the face before fleeing empty-handed.
A PSNI spokesman said: “She was left badly shaken.”
The man is described as being in his 30s and was wearing a blue-coloured boilersuit.
