Two city centre hotels in Belfast have been targeted in a spate of burglaries.

Cash, wallets, mobile phones and other personal belongings were stolen from a number of rooms in two hotels in the Great Victoria Street area.

Police believe the rooms were entered sometime between 4.30pm on Friday and 9.30am on Saturday.

They have advised hotel guests to keep valuables out of sight and use the safe in their hotel room.

"It is wise to secure precious items such as jewellery, credit cards, cash or financial documents," a Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman said.

"Don't leave these items on view."

Witnesses have been urged to come forward.
