The Western Trust has highlighted the need for more foster families to provide safe, stable and nurturing homes for vulnerable children and young people across Northern Ireland.
The message comes ahead of Foster Care Fortnight, from May 14-17.
This year the trust will be participating in the regional recruitment campaign — the fire engine route — to symbolise the sense of emergency in the need for more foster carers.
Dympna Brogan, recruitment team manager, said: “We are asking the public during Foster Care Fortnight to come and meet our staff at information evenings being hosted across the trust.
“If they cannot get to an information evening the fire engine will be buzzing around the trust on May 23 and 24.”
There are currently 1,916 children and young people living with HSC foster carers across Northern Ireland of which 315 are living in the Western Trust area.
