Rory McIlroy will be joined on course at the US Masters by girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki.

The Danish tennis ace has agreed to caddie for McIlroy in the traditional Masters Par 3 Competition, an eve-of-tournament event played in front of tens of thousands of spectators at Augusta National in Georgia.

Former world number one Wozniacki is making her first visit to the Masters and McIlroy's delighted she'll carry his golf bag into action on the hilly Par 3 course.

"I just want to get her into one of those white boiler suits the caddies must wear at Augusta," quipped the Ulsterman, who is returning a compliment to his girlfriend today.

Wozniacki invited McIlroy to join her on the tennis court during a break in play at an exhibition match in New York's Madison Square Garden last year and play a point against her opponent Maria Sharapova, which he won.

In keeping with tradition, Wozniacki will be expected to play a shot off the ninth and final tee across an expanse of water, hopefully to the green. "It's gonna be fun," Woznaicki tweeted, who is not the first women's professional tennis star to caddie in this event.

Chris Evert was on her then husband Greg Norman's bag in 2009.
