Cheaper gas for Greater Belfast area

Energy firms are attempting to bring a little warmth against the chill of VAT hikes, rising energy prices, looming carbon taxes and swingeing budget cuts.

Firmus Energy, the Antrim-based gas company, today announced it is able to supply to all homes with a credit meter in Greater Belfast.

Firmus claims its prices are “at least 7.5% cheaper than Phoenix” and have vowed to track their competitor’s prices for the next two years.

The company’s managing director Mark Prentice said: “Customers who switch to Firmus Energy could save up to 11.5% on their gas bills in the first 12 months alone.

“Over two years, this could equate to a saving of over £100 for an average home which is hugely beneficial for household budgets.”
