A group of children had to run for safety after a gunman opened fire in a west Belfast park.
Dozens of people were in Willowbank Park, just off the Falls Road, on Tuesday night when one of a gang of four men opened fire.
Sinn Fein said the incident appeared to be a falling-out between dissidents and local youths.
One woman who did not want to be identified said her young son and daughter were terrified.
"She had to hide under the slide in the park, she was squealing," the woman added. "My wee boy of three came down to me and had his hands to his ears saying that it was noisy and had scared him."
Sinn Fein councillor Steven Corr said there was "pandemonium" when the gunfire started.
He said there no justification for the incident and that frustration regarding anti-social behaviour did not warrant the use of a gun.
SDLP councillor Colin Keenan "condemned strongly" what had happened and said he understood a list of names was read out ordering individuals out of the country within 24 hours.
