Correction: Antoinette McKeown

An article supplied by the Press Association stated that Antoinette McKeown, the chief executive of the Consumer Council, told Northern Ireland Water’s chief executive, Laurence MacKenzie, in an e-mail that he enjoyed her “strong personal support” after he withdrew his offer to resign from the company (‘Watchdog cuts off NI Water ties over “collapse in trust”’, September 21).

Ms McKeown has asked us to point out that she in fact told Mr MacKenzie that he enjoyed her strong personal support for the actions he took in alerting the Department for Regional Development to irregularities in procurement practice at NIW, and not her support per se. We are happy to make the situation clear.
