Police are appealing for information on the movements of a silver Mercedes car after it was stolen from a home during a creeper burglary.
It was stolen from outside a house in Newry’s Dromintine Road area after an intruder forced entry before 3pm on Sunday and lifted the keys.
The Mercedes E220 was driven off at speed and is believed to have been driven away in convoy with a gold coloured Astra car. Police are advising all householders to take steps to protect their property. This includes during security check of your home and examining the strength of doors as well as fitting deadlocks and chains.
Homeowners were warned not to leave keys hanging on doors as thieves will be on the look-out for this.
A PSNI spokesman said a local crime prevention officer “will be only too happy to call out to your home or have a chat on the phone about how you can take steps to better protect yourself and your property”.
Police are appealing to anyone who saw either the Mercedes or Astra car in the area on Sunday or anyone who has information on the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
