Future Queen, Kate Middleton has been told to show reverence to “blood princesses”, Beatrice and Eugenie by cursteying to Prince Andrew’s daughters when her husband Prince William is not present.

In newly ratified protocal, Kate’s position in the royal pecking order has been clarified, with the Duchess of Cambridge being obliged to curtsey to royal born blue blooded women in the House of Windsor including Princess Anne and Princess Alexandra, the Queen’s cousin.

But in the case of the Countess of Wessex, Princess Sophie, wife of Prince Edward, it is she who must curtsey to Kate.

Sources believe she won’t mind as she is keen to please everyone but some fear William may be less happy with her having to curtsey to his relatives in his absence.
