Dump truck yobs target school

Police in Lurgan are looking for a gang of vandals who used a dump truck to cause extensive damage to a school and its grounds.

Detectives are appealing for information after the damage was caused to the school in the Sloan Avenue area of the Co Armagh town on Monday evening.

Police said that sometime between 6.30pm and 9.30pm, three young men were observed entering the grounds of the school.

Fencing, large pot plants, a tree, lawns and foundations of building work were damaged by the dump truck.

One of the three culprits is described as being around 5ft 7ins and was wearing a red hooded top along with dark tracksuit bottoms.

The second man is described as being between 5ft 11ins and 6ft 1in and was wearing a green-coloured hooded top along with a pair of grey tracksuit bottoms.

Their accomplice is described as being around 5ft 4ins to 5ft 6ins and was wearing a black hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.

Police are asking for any witnesses to this incident in Lurgan or anyone who has information about the incident to contact them at Lurgan on 0845 600 8000.
