Edwin Poots hails new medical centre

Health Minister Edwin Poots has formally opened the new Dunamanagh Medical Centre in Co Tyrone.

The centre has two GP surgeries and health and community services including health visiting, district nursing and diabetic specialist nursing.

Mr Poots said: “This state-of-the-art facility will bring real benefits to the people of Dunamanagh and surrounding areas. My aim, which is reinforced by the Transforming Your Care report, is that the services provided by Health and Social Care are fit for purpose to meet patients’, clients’ and communities’ needs.

“This means more care provided outside hospitals and in the community, closer to people’s homes.

“This modern facility is capable of delivering 21st-century health and social care and is a perfect example of this model of care.”
