Former SDLP MLA Conall McDevitt has bounced back from political oblivion after joining a major public relations firm co-run by the son of former party leader John Hume.
Dublin-based Hume Brophy announced that the former Assembly high-flyer is to be an associate partner with the firm, which also has offices in Brussels, Paris, London and Singapore.
And Mr McDevitt, who dramatically resigned after admitting receiving an improper payment three years ago, said he was looking forward to working in a more international environment.
"The opportunities for organisations and companies across Ireland to increase their profile and influence across Europe is considerable and Hume Brophy are market leaders in this sector," he said.
It describes itself as an international communications and Government relations firm. Mr McDevitt was formerly boss of the Belfast office of public relations firm Weber Shandwick.
