A fire at a tyre recycling depot near Portglenone in County Antrim has caused £1 million worth of damage.

A building and recycling equipment were destroyed in the blaze, which is being treated by the emergency services as suspicious.

It was reported late on Sunday night and at one point 30 firefighters were involved in tackling it on the Garvaghy Road.

Firefighters remain at the scene to deal with sporadic flare-ups.

Fire Service assistant commander Colin Dixon said it would take some time to put the blaze completely out.
