Five males arrested last night (Tuesday) after police tasered a man have been bailed.

Police were confronted by a group of men brandishing iron bars and knives on a call-out to called to a property at Alexandra Park Avenue.

It followed reports of a car being vandalised.

When police entered the property they called on the men to put down their weapons, but were confronted and one officer sustained injuries to his hand and face.

A taser was used to restrain one of the group.

Five teens were arrested and the Police Ombudsman's office was informed.

The males were originally described by the PSNI as youths, however a spokesman said today they were aged between 19 and 25.

They were this afternoon (Wednesday) released on bail pending further enquiries.
