Four men were in police custody today being questioned in connection with the murder of a man in Belfast's main student area.

Two men were arrested late last night by detectives investigating the killing of a man in his 40s, believed to be a foreign national, whose body was found at a house in Penrose Street in the Holylands area on Wednesday.

The two arrests yesterday brought the total of those detained in custody to four.

The victim is understood to have suffered head injuries and was discovered by a contractor due to carry out repair work.

It is understood blood was spotted on the doorstep outside the property. Police confirmed they were treating the death as murder after a post-mortem examination was carried out.
