A £21m construction contract for a regeneration project in east Belfast should be terminated, an independent mediator has recommended.
It is understood that a dispute between the contractors and Belfast City Council stalled building work on the Connswater Greenway Plan last year.
A mediator has now said the contractors should be offered a final payment of about £250k, it is understood.
It would mean the council would have to investigate other ways of finishing the project.
