Halloween call outs down once more

Burning rubbish and bonfires were the reasons for the majority of emergency call outs

The number of Halloween related calls to the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has fallen by a third, a spokesman said tonight.

Burning rubbish and bonfires were the reasons for the majority of emergency call outs.

There were no reports of injuries any to members of the public or fire fighters.

Last year NIFRS attended 145 incidents - the lowest on record.

Three of its crews were attacked and one fire engine was slightly damaged.
