Helicopter crash lands at Derry airport
Monday, 9 August 2010
A helicopter has crash landed at the City of Derry Airport.
The incident happened shortly before 5pm yesterday during a training session.
A PSNI spokeswoman said no one was injured but the pilot was treated for shock.
She added there were no further details available.
Last night the airport manager Darren Tierney said: “A Robinson 22 helicopter was doing a controlled descent. It was only hovering about 20ft when it hit the Tarmac. But the pilot walked away without any injuries.”
